Greg is a CFA Charterholder, as well as a qualified pension actuary. This rare combination makes him uniquely suited to develop investment strategies and provide financial guidance in a world of risk and uncertainty.
Greg assists clients in all of Lawton Partners’ areas of expertise including retirement planning, savings and investment strategies, financial education and risk management, as well as tax and estate planning. Business clients also benefit from his unparalleled pension expertise, where he helps assess suitability and manages individual pension plans for professionals, executives, and company owners.
Many life choices directly affect finances. Greg’s actuarial and investment expertise helps his clients identify the impact of their choices, exploring with them the alternatives available to make the best decisions possible.
Prior to joining Lawton Partners in 2004, Greg was a vice president with a global actuarial and benefits consulting firm, where he provided pension, actuarial, and investment services to individuals as well as businesses and organizations of all sizes.
As a lifelong Winnipegger, Greg is committed to the economic and cultural success of the city. Over the years, he has served in various roles with the United Way, CNIB, and on a number of pension and investment committees of Winnipeg-based organizations. Greg and his wife, Margaret, are raising two active daughters. As a family, they enjoy travelling and spending time at the lake. Greg also finds time to pursue hobbies including woodworking, sailing, and ultimate frisbee.

Justin Wilson
CFP®Justin joined Greg Gillis’ team at Lawton Partners in 2016 after holding multiple roles in banking and investment brokerage services with one of Canada’s largest financial institutions. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP) and holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours degrees from the University of Manitoba’s Asper School of Business.
Kirk Chase
CFP®Prior to joining Lawton Partners, Kirk worked closely alongside his father in their wealth management practice. He offers personalized solutions across various areas, including investment management, retirement planning, tax optimization, estate planning, and risk management. Kirk’s approach is centered on building long-term relationships with his clients, guiding them through every stage of their financial journey with integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to their success.
Jessica Aplin
Jessica joined Lawton Partners in 2021. She brings 7 years of experience in the financial industry.
Jessica specializes in client service, booking review discussions for the Gillis and Forster team, assisting in meeting preparation, and tracking follow-up documentation.
Jessica holds her Mutual Funds License and her Life Insurance License.
In her spare time, Jessica enjoys working on home renovations and spending time at the lake.
